Time to think

May 10, 2012

Today I took a walk and decided to take some pictures. All I could do was to clear my head and just think.

Two days ago, my mom told me a story. She met up with her ex last week and they talked about their lives and how things were going with their family. He is this successful businessman, but then he asked her this question "How do you know what you're doing is right?". This perplexed both my mom and I, because why would he ask such a thing if he's doing so well in his job? "He's probably not happy with his life" my mom said to me.

My mom replied "You'll know if it's God's plan, you know?" then he said, "How do you know if it is His plan?". She had a hard time on answering these questions because, well, she didn't see it coming. "If you're close to Him, talk to Him and ask for advice. He'll tell you if what you're doing is right." Then, after that, he said, "But that's the problem...I'm not close with Him."

This is a common dilemma for people that are like him, and I feel bad for him. I won't mention any names, but I think I know a few. It's like, people want to be them and want everything that are theirs, like their money and fame and success, but life isn't about that. My mom isn't that rich or known, but I know that she's happy and contented in her life because she has a wonderful home, a job that she loves, caring parents, a husband, me and my brother, and God. She can get cranky at times, and emotional, but that's part of life, and I hope every one knows that.

Take care and God bless, every body :)

  1. Even the greatest riches and success cannot compare to a life close to the King of kings, that's all I can say. This is truly a lovely, inspiring post.

  2. Hello! I'm a new reader and I love the blog :)
I'm proud of your mom for talking about God to this man. It can be so easy to get caught up in the successes of the world, but she did the right thing.

  3. I hope he realizes God's plan for his life. No true happiness will come unless he finds it.

Also I love your shoes. :)
