birthdays :: fun, family and friends

July 08, 2013

Celebrating birthdays, especially the major ones are a big deal in my family. One of my closest friends and my father share the same birthday (which I find pretty cool), and over the weekend I attended both parties. I wasn't able to take a lot of pictures, but I can assure you it was a blast!

So on Friday after school, my friends and I went to the mall and ate out, took a bunch of careless instax pictures, talked about almost everything, played "Head's Up", caught up, bought more food, and pretty much stayed together. It wasn't anything big, but it was a really special and fun day. On Sunday, we celebrated my dad's birthday. After attending a mass and prayer meeting with the community, we found our guests waiting for us at home! So we ate really good home-cooked food and my cousins and I played "Head's Up" for the enth time. If you're asking why, it's because it's really fun.

Why am I telling you all this? Because I just want to say birthdays are special. And it is that person's special day and we should make them feel like it is. Do something nice, smile more at them and make a simple tribute (if I were you, cards make them feel really special ;)) and just to spend time with that person means a whole lot to them.

Your birthday isn't the only day you should care about, it's the 364 other days in the year.
Wishing everyone a happy happy belated/advanced birthday!
