australia :: part one

January 07, 2014

As promised, here's the rest (or shall I say, part one of the rest) of my photos. I'm really glad I brought my camera along with me everywhere I went; the place is just full of beautiful things, literally and figuratively. I'm not the type of person to take the normal "tourist shots", (that's more of my mom's job!) because as always I find myself snapping away with my camera in my own adventure world, capturing more of candid photos and little details.

Kind of a funny (and true) story, one time me and my family rode a ferry going to Manly from Circular Quay and once it stopped, I wandered off by myself thinking they were right behind me taking their own pictures by the deck. After a minute or two, more and more people were coming aboard. I noticed something was wrong and rushed downstairs, waiting at the entrance of the ship for them to come out. I was half hopeful and half terrified;  no one wants to have to have their own "Home Alone" experience, right? So I decided to go towards the boardwalk and there I saw my parents either really mad, scared or relived (maybe a bit of the three) behind a worker telling me to rush through the gate. They told me that if I was there a minute later, the ferry would return to Circular Quay and I wouldn't be able to see them anymore! (hint: I learned my lesson.)

It was such a fun set of five days in Sydney; learning their culture and experiencing the fireworks most of all. I figured I couldn't have fit all the pictures in one post, so I decided to make another one regarding Gold Coast (it was as a wonderful place; if not better!). Bye for now, hope you've been enjoying your new year  :-)

  9. i'm from sydney and its a bit strange to think that somebody else thinks my hometown is beautiful, because its pretty mundane to me. but, i can really experience sydney from your point of view and the beautifulness through your photographs. they are amazing!
