australia :: part two

January 23, 2014

Hi again! Here's part two of my photos from my trip to aussie land this month. Really, it was such an amazing experience. From Sydney, we flew to Gold Goast and arrived at our hotel. the view was so beautiful, you could see the skyline and the wonderful mountain landscape at the back. The first thing we did was go to the beach; and I have to say, that beach must be one of the best I've been to. The waves were so huge by late afternoon, that my cousins and I had a game. We would try to go as further and deeper into the sea as possible, and whenever there's a huge wave, we would turn our backs and jump! It takes getting used to; some of the salt water in my eyes were extremely painful, but it was so worth it (then i realized why it was called "Surfer's Paradise"!).

The best part, if I say so myself, would be visiting the theme parks! Movie world, of course, had the best rides and characters. I was so so so scared of the first ride that I almost backed out on, which was the Green Lantern one. Believe it or not, it was the first time I've ridden a coaster that went upside down. The rest of the guys went to the extreme roller coasters, and the rest of my family just settled in for corn dogs, watching mascots pass by, and the stunt driver show! the fire was real; I could almost feel it burning my face. At the end of the day, we all met up and rode one last together: the Scooby Doo Spooky Roller Coaster. That was the funnest because here's the catch; at first, things and sounds just pop out of nowhere, and the speed is relatively slow. Then, the real fun happens. You go into a dark elevator, and my mom started freaking out, "Oh no!". Turns out, you get to fall backwards, turn, twist, and almost fall out of your seat.

I was definitely screaming (heh).

Wet n' Wild was fun, too. There were lots of things to do, and no kidding: you get wet. I sorta liked this one better because there were more things I got to ride. Their food was really tasty too, but it might just be because I was starving by the end of the day. Here's a tip: make sure you wear aqua socks or something that protects your feet from the ground because it's fiery hot! Last but not least, was Sea World. Out of all three, I underestimated this one the most. Yet, I got to see so many sea creatures, even touch a stingray for the first time! The polar bears were adorable, especially the cute baby playing with his mother. There were dolphin shows, bird shows, and a little skit show about a sea lion. It was great, and we even got to see this adorable penguin that is mesmerized with food, or shiny things. All you have to do is put it near the glass, and move it around; his head is going to follow it!

One of the last things I want to share with you was that we rode on a limousine going to Brisbane for our flight home. Now, I know what you're thinking; why ride the limousine if you can save up by bus or taxi? Well, that's because we wanted our whole family to stay together, and a limo was cheaper than a taxi, can you believe it? Anyway, the view was so scenic and the ride was really peaceful, watching the sun set by our window. We had a good night's sleep, and viola; the last shot I took in aussie on the plane.

Till the next adventure!
